You can stop by our retail café location to purchase our breads and baked goods, or you can “special” order any product we carry by phone or fax. We have an ever-expanding lunch menu with gourmet sandwiches, salads and home made soups. We now offer delivery service for lunch and catering orders.

Raw Vegetable Salad

 

Ingredients

1 each large cucumber

3 each large celery stalks

1 each large daikon radish

2 each large radishes

1 each large carrot

5 each large red bell peppers

Caraway Buttermilk Dressing

2 eggs each

1 garlic clove each

2 teaspoons onion powder

2 small shallots each

2 cups buttermilk

1/4 cup white wine vinegar

2 teaspoons caraway seeds (toasted)

3 1/2 cups canola oil

salt and pepper to taste

 

Method

Salad: 1) With a peeler slice lengthwise celery and daikon then put them in cold water for five minutes. 2) Slice cucumber and carrot lengthwise also. 3) Garnish: Arugula micro greens and chives cut in 5-inch pieces.

Dressing: 1) In a blender, combine eggs, garlic, onions, shallots, buttermilk and vinegar until well mixed. 2) Lightly toast caraway seeds in a pan and add to blender with salt and pepper. 3) Slowly emulsify oil in blender until all ingredient are well blended.

 

To Serve

Place dressing on plate, then add vegetables and garnish with arugula and chives on side.
